My Approach to Personal Training

My goal is to create an environment where you feel comfortable and part of a team.

When you can move unrestricted, you feel better and capable to achieve more.

If your body has movement restrictions, you reduce your chances of becoming stronger. As your program continues, I create a system of checks and balances to make sure progress is being made. If the design is not working, we evaluate how to fix any roadblocks.

I start with an assessment to understand what you are looking to achieve.

When I start working with a new client I start with a detailed assessment to get an idea of your capabilities. I help you create a realistic goal for yourself. A movement assessment shows me strengths versus weaknesses. This allows me to create a plan specific to your personal needs. I create a custom program per individual to help you reach your goals.

Eating habits are an important aspect to living a healthier lifestyle. I am Precision Nutrition Level 1 certified. This helps me to work with you to help improve your relationship with food.

Background and Education

My career started with a background playing football. I played in the Canadian Junior Football League (CJFL- Edmonton Huskies, Westshore Rebels). I also played U Sports for the University of Alberta Golden Bears.

The more I worked with my own personal trainer I realized I wanted to assist others. I became inspired to help others reach their training and performance training goals.

I attended the Northern Alberta Institute of Technology (NAIT). I graduated the Personal Fitness Trainer Program receiving honours.

I currently hold the following certifications:

  • NSCA - Certified Personal Trainer

  • NASM - Corrective Exercise Specialist

  • Precision Nutrition Level 1 Certified

In my time as a personal trainer I’ve been fortunate to work with a variety of people.

I work with people to help increase their overall strength. This includes functional tasks like moving kitty litter. As well as building strength to lift weight that exceeds their own body weight.

I have assisted people to change their body composition. Reducing their body fat and increasing their muscle mass.

I have worked with people who came in complaining of joint pain. I help create a team with a Physiotherapist or Chiropractor. With this team we help people feel stronger and confident in their movement.

People report better confidence in presenting or meetings. This is due to improved posture and wearing comfortable fitting clothing.

I help people who are afraid to enter a weight room to reach their full potential.
